Baby Owen

There has been a new addition to the farmlet family. Owen Thom Flaherty was born early in the morning on November 16.

We’re all home and doing well. Becky hopes to be able to post stories again soon. For now, though, she is focussed on feeding and tending to Owen, resting and recovering from the very hard delivery.

Welcome Owen! It’s a crazy world you’ve dropped into, but mom and dad are going to do everything they can to make it a good home for you

    Congrats Becky and Kevin!

Oh!! Congratulations! I’m over the moon for you both, and he’s just lovely! Welcome to the world Owen! Here’s hoping for an easy transition to familyhood for you all, and a fast healing for Becky.

He is absolutely handsome!! I am so proud. I am sure you are doing an amazing job.
Our wee cherub just hit 7140grams at 10 weeks!!! She is definately ‘a keeper’.
Pia is in the garden, self entertaining, in her house made of sheets and the clothes line.
    All the best.

There are no words that will do justice to that photo. You are a very lucky man. Bless you all.

Congratulations on your tamariki tane! May you all be a blessing to each other. Sleep when you can Becky and allow some things to be just put aside for now as you regain your physical strength and learn how to exist on less sleep.
The difficulties that sometimes come with child birth soon melt away when your babies eyes (windows to the soul) look into yours when he is nursing/feeding. A true taonga (treasure)!

Haeremai to the world baby Owen!!

Congratulations guys! I suspected something might be up with the lack of posts. Excellent name too – but I’m biased, my husband is Owen and my son is Rohan (yes they rhyme). Owen is enjoying the resurgence in his name’s popularity, I don’t think I’ll ever see lots of little Meryls running around though… My only suggestion is to perfect the art of feeding lying down as soon as possible.

Oh wow, Owen is just gorgeous, congratulations to you both! Enjoy your ‘babymoon’ 🙂

I love the pic of the diapers on the line,
    hilarious.

Congratulations from all of us out this way. Enjoy the melding of old and new adventures in your world, and the new person learning about your special world! I can assure you we were anxiously awaiting to hear of Owen’s safe birth and Rebecca’s good health. Rest, recover, and best wishes to you all!!!! 🙂

Aaaah, so cute! Judging by Owen’s pointy head, I could see that it was very difficult delivery. Also, the diaper on the laundry line is really funny. First glance gave me a visual of someone doing several loads via the bucket and plunger method. And the feast! It’s nice to be near family. I hope the in-laws from the U.S. make it over to see their beautiful grandchild.
